Tech Specs

The unique blade design of Swhacker Broadheads provides you with two separate cutting edges. The first edge or wing blades cuts the hide and first set of ribs. The second edge or main blades are razor-sharp when opening in the body cavity and cutting through internal organs.

Angled shots are NO PROBLEM when bow hunting. The tip of the head enters the animal well before the wing blades make contact with the animal. This eliminates cantilevering during flight and deflections as the main blades open.

Quiver
We recommend that you add pre-cut foam in your quiver so that the broadhead can be inserted and removed freely from the quiver. The foam should not put any pressure against the opening blades during storage. This will cause the shrink band to stretch and possibly fall off. Billy Parker recommends using a New Dawn Outdoors Vortxx 5 or PSE snap on/off quiver made by Tree Limb.

Replacing Blades
Our set screws are installed with Loctite to prevent them from coming out due to vibration in the quiver or during transportation. To break down the Loctite, apply heat to the screw using a pocket lighter. Expose the set screws to the flame for approximately 10 seconds. While facing the socket portion of the set screw, rotate the screw counter clockwise. The ferrule is not threaded all the way thru, and the screw will bottom out if rotated clockwise.

Practice
Swhacker Broadheads fly exactly like field points. If you want to practice with Swhacker Broadheads, wrap electrical tape around the ferrule between the tip and the wing blades. This will prevent the head from opening on a foam target and allow you to practice without dulling the blades.

Kinetic Energy
Here is a listing of three of our most popular broadhead models and the minimum amount of kinetic energy your bow needs to produce to properly use Swhacker Broadheads.

100-grain, 1 3/4-inch cut 50 ft. lbs. of kinetic energy
100-grain, 2-inch cut 55 ft. lbs. of kinetic energy
125-grain, 2 1/4-inch cut 60 ft. lbs. of kinetic energy

There are numerous kinetic energy calculators on the Internet - some are basic and others are much more complex. A simple search using Bow and Arrow Kinetic Energy Calculator will yield numerous results. We recommend you check out this calculator posted at StickemArchery.com as a place to start your research.
