Antler River Archery
Range Rules & Safety
The safety of every shooter on our range is our top priority. All participants — first-time visitors and regulars alike — must read, understand, and follow these rules before stepping onto the range.
Safety Is Non-Negotiable
Archery is a safe and enjoyable sport when everyone follows the rules. At Antler River Archery, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe behaviour on the range. Any participant found acting in an unsafe manner will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
If you are ever unsure about range commands, equipment, or procedures, please ask a staff member before proceeding. We are always happy to help.
General Range Rules
- Always treat every bow as if it is loaded. Never draw a bow or nock an arrow while others are in front of the shooting line.
- Only shoot at your designated target. Arrows must travel in a straight line toward your assigned target at all times.
- No arrows may be retrieved until the range is declared clear by a staff member or the all-clear command has been given. Never walk forward while another shooter is at the line.
- All bows must be pointed down-range at all times while on the shooting line — even when not drawing.
- Dry-firing (drawing and releasing without an arrow) is strictly prohibited. Dry-firing can damage equipment and cause injury.
- Do not handle another person's equipment without their explicit permission.
- Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the shooting line at all times.
- Follow all verbal commands given by range staff immediately and without question.
- Food and beverages are not permitted on the shooting floor. Please use the designated waiting area.
- Report any damaged equipment, unsafe targets, or safety concerns to staff immediately.
Dress Code & Equipment
- Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times on the range floor.
- Loose sleeves or jewellery near the bow arm must be secured or removed to prevent string contact injuries.
- An arm guard is strongly recommended for all recurve and longbow shooters. Arm guards are available for loan at the front desk.
- All equipment brought onto the range must be in safe working condition. Staff reserve the right to inspect and, if necessary, prohibit the use of unsafe equipment.

Liability & Waiver
Archery is a physical activity that carries inherent risks. By using the Antler River Archery range, all participants acknowledge and accept these risks. Antler River Archery Inc. will not be held liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property sustained during range use, except where such injury or loss arises directly from the negligence of Antler River Archery Inc. staff.
All first-time visitors are required to sign a liability waiver at the front desk before using the range. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Waivers are valid for one calendar year from the date of signing.
Antler River Archery reserves the right to refuse range access to any individual who, in the judgement of staff, poses a safety risk to themselves or others.
